Office of Labor-Management Enforcement
The Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) conducts both civil and criminal investigations of alleged violations of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA) and related laws.
These investigations by OLMS District Offices involve issues such as embezzlements of union funds, union officer elections, the filing of required reports by unions and others with OLMS, and the imposition of trusteeships over subordinate unions by a parent body. These investigations may result in legal enforcement actions.

December 18th, 2015 On December 18, 2015, in the Superior Court in the City of Clifton, New Jersey, Sharon Williams-Savage, former President of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2425 (located in East Orange, N.J.), was indicted on two counts of misapplication of entrusted property exceeding $1,000 in the 3rd degree and theft by unlawful taking or disposition exceeding $500 in the 3rd degree between 2008 and 2012, in violation of NJSA 2C:21-15 and 2C:20-3, respectively. The indictment follows a joint investigation by the OLMS New York District Office and the New Jersey State Criminal Division.
