On September 16, 2021, in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Michael Wood, former Treasurer of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 3957 (located in Grant, La.), was sentenced to three months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $29,664 in restitution and a $100 special assessment. On May 13, 2021, Wood pleaded guilty to one count of forgery, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 513(a).
