On September 14, 2022, in the United States District Court of Massachusetts, Michael Oldham, former President of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 1900 (located in Taunton, Mass.), was sentenced to jail time served, nine months of home confinement, and three years of supervised release. Oldham was also ordered to pay $35,900 in restitution and a $3,000 fine. On April 13, 2022, Oldham pleaded guilty to 26 counts of wire fraud, one count of false statements, and three counts of filing false tax returns, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 1343, 18 U.S.C. 1001(a), and 26 U.S.C. 7206(1), respectively. The sentencing follows an investigation by the OLMS Boston-Buffalo District Office, the Department of Defenses Office of Inspector General, and the Internal Revenue Service.
