Petro, former President of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2094 was sentenced to six months of home confinement, three years of probation and was ordered to pay $112,477 in restitution and a $100 special assessment. On February 14, 2013, Petro pled guilty to one count of embezzling union funds on a federal enclave, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 661. The sentencing follows an investigation by the OLMS New York District Office and the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Office of Inspector General, Criminal Investigations Division.
